Montenegro said farewell to its neighbor Serbia in 2006 declaring its Independence, after a long history of being tied to former the former Republic of Yugoslavia (as a result of the 2nd World War) and latterly part of Serbia / Montenegro. I stood on the Hill in Kotor looking at the medieval old town with its several Romanesque churches, and imagined the column of soldiers leaving the fortified town What a happy day to be celebrated in festive pinks, yellow and oranges.
