For two decades, Bensley has been fascinated by the camaraderie and the unique practices of the Faroese Knitting Club.
Bensley has visited the Faroe Islands, befriended the members of the FKC, and has globetrotted with them on numerous occasions. This outsider art show is a celebration, and a serious documentation, of Bensley’s love for these jubilant, – sometimes wigged out people. He has spent a solid year painting for this show, starting with a series of watercolor field paintings. These have provided the base for each of these paintings.
